Turn, Turn, Turn

A new season is upon us. It seems that Spring was way too short this year, and already we are under the oppression of the stifling summer-like heat. Jackson goes out to play and within minutes is asking to return to the refuge of air conditioning. My son and I are in agreement that summer weather is only to be endured if one is submerged in water!

Next week we return to Camp Willow Run, almost our home away from home. Jackson loves going there each summer! He better adjust to the summer weather quickly 'cause next week we will stay in a permanent state of rosy cheeks, clothes dredged in sweat, and the sweet smell of sunscreen. Wouldn't trade it for anything!

Summer months mean that we wake up and get out of the house early to enjoy being outside before it become unbearable. And, it means that I take out a new rotation of his toys and the art easel that have been put away since the cold winter months. We'll make forts with bedsheets and chairs, play board games, and go to the pool as often as possible. Time for mommy to find creative distractions again!

Hey! This is Jeannie - Robin Ann Apicella's sister. I've looked at your blog every now and then and really like it! I have an 11 yr old daughter [COURTNEY] who went to CWR last summer (on Robin Ann's recommendation of course) and is going back this year. She loved it last yer and reading your post really encouraged me about her experiences there, this year and in the future! She is nervous this year because she didn't get buddied up with her friends like she wanted to. She will be going basically "alone" but I'm praying that it will be one of the best weeks of her life. Unfortunately she won't be going until August 5 so she'll miss you and your husband and son, but keep her in your prayers - especially since its the end of the summer and those counselors will be tired!!!

Jeannie - I think that is when our friend Tim will be speaking at camp. He's also a pastor at our church. I hope this year will be even better for her!
