Oh, how I love me some musicals.
Since hubby is working tonight and the weather is dreary, I decided to introduce my son to Mary Poppins. It was a childhood favorite of mine. I know all the songs by heart. However, I was not too optimistic that my active 3 year-old son would make it very far into the movie without losing interest. Being that it was not a cartoon (except for the brief part at the park). Nor did they drive anything.
I am happy to say that he loved it. He laughed, danced, and asked me repeatedly, "Is that a witch, mommy?" No. Just a flying, nice woman that does magic. Perfectly logical.
I'm anxious to introduce him to more of the world of musicals, like The Sound of Music, Annie, Singing in the Rain... maybe not Wizard of Oz for a little while. That one still creeps me out a bit.
I'm not sure who will enjoy it more - he or me?

Oh how fun!! Our girls LOVE Mary Poppins...and Rachel has decided she wants a "Sound of Music" themed birthday party in August ( I am not sure about that one except to serve "Tea with Jam and Bread") :) They go to bed listening to the soundtrack. Annie has also become a favorite, and we now listen to the soundtrack to that on my ipod in the car. It is so fun to introduce our kids to these classics/ musicals. BTW, know what you mean about WOZ...Rachel watches it but Lily says it is too scary for her.
